Gimik Girl No More?

There was a time when I felt bad when people would tell me they went out on a gimik and I didn’t know about it. There was also a time when I felt bad when there was a gimik and I couldn’t be there. But I guess people change. Now, I don’t care much about gimiks and all that.

Just in case you are wondering what I am referring to with gimik, I am actually talking about going out with friends. What we do is usually hanging out and drinking alcohol. Booze, you may call it. Whatever.

Anyway, I have just realized that maybe I’m really getting old. Sure I still do want to go out with friends on gimiks but I would rather just have drinking sessions with them in some not-so-noisy place. I’m thinking maybe someone’s home or maybe a quiet place where we all could hear each other and we could talk. Going to a really ‘rad’ place where the music is blasting so loud and with lots of people is not my thing anymore. I sure still enjoy going out to places like that but I’d rather do that just once in a while.

Like for the past couple of months, I am not really sure when was the last time I went with a group of friends and had a rowdy time in some bar. Really. We would get drunk in someone’s home or some ‘quiet’ bar. There was this time that Talie and I missed eating at ChiliPeppers. We did eat there with Jho and after that, we decided that we could not talk properly there so we decided to continue talking and hanging out at Small Talk. And yeah we did get some alcohol there but that is another story.

Don’t get me wrong. I still love going out on gimiks. But maybe not as often as I used to. And I’m really fine with that. There’s no remorse or anything of that sort. Really. I dunno where the gimik girl in me has gone but I’m not going to miss her that much. I’m pretty sure she’ll be back to visit me one time or another and we’ll have fun. But when she goes, I’ll still be happy just being the present me.

Oh by the way, if you’re talking about going to new places or maybe try out new things, do not forget to ask me. That is a totally different story. Kaladkarin? I don’t care. :D
