Friendship, Songs, And Alcohol
What do you get when you put three people like them together for a couple of hours?
You get something really crazy. Well, I guess everything gets really crazy when you put together some people who share the same brainwaves.
It all started with meeting Francis up and buying some roasted chicken, fried peanuts, and a liter of Matador. We then went over to Olops' for hours of drinking, munching, and sharing. Yeah, we were sharing stories and laughter.
After that liter was finished, videoke was calling us so off to Myrnel’s we went. There we had some beer and lots of songs. And yeah, the stories just never seem to end. But Myrnel’s just closed at midnight so off to Legazpi we went.
The boys decided that they wanted to eat first so we dropped by Tiya Bita’s eatery which is actually a shoe store by day but when the gates of those stores close, the eatery pops up. Nice, right? I do recommend that you try to eat here if you have a strong stomach though.
We then went to PeƱaranda, the air-conditioned videoke bar in front of this very famous hot spot to get girls here in Legazpi. Anyway, here, we drank more beer and sang even more songs. I dunno why but during this part, we were all laughing much really and doing crazy stuff.
We headed off at around past 4 in the morning to Biggs’ to get something to eat or drink. We settled on drinking some hot coffee. At around 5am, we all headed home.
Here are some interesting facts about what happened:
- Francis and Olops skipped school for this.
- Francis just wanted to play his version of forbidden questions. Three questions and you just have to answer truthfully. I was ready to play. Olops was not agreeing nor disagreeing. Francis offered to play this game several times into the morning. Same results. In the end, no game was played.
- Just Once by James Ingram has been the favorite song of the night - both in Myrnel’s and PeƱaranda.
- Pano Na Kaya by Bugoy Drilon has been our favorite song of the night. I dunno how it all started but we kept repeating it again and again. Well, we were repeating the first line of the chorus again and again but we never really got to finishing the whole chorus bit. But we did manage to blurt out some inaudible words to make up for what we did not know and we also did manage to sing that song along with other songs playing on the videoke machine. Francis also did love putting in a lot of ‘Girl…’ narrations in all songs.
- I’m getting too old for this kind of all-nighter things. Body clock gets all screwed up that easily.
- Girls for rent at that popular pickup spot look like high school students!
- I thought I could stomach seeing these girls for rent with customers. But I guess I’m just not up to it. Especially when I saw that girl being sweet and all that to this man who looked like he had just spent a year’s savings just to get one of them girls. He also looked like he hadn’t taken a bath in days.
- And there was also this old guy who had a couple of girls with him. He looked really japorms with his flowery blouse (you read that right) cowgirl style, black maong pants, and high-cut rubber shoes. You know, that kind you play basketball in. We called him Papa Cologne, as well as Mr. Folded and Hung. Blame us. But he did make our night/early morning really happy by just being himself.
So there.
Oh by the way, you can download Bugoy’s Pano Na Kaya online. Yeah, it’s free.
